Beyond 4.0

What is Industry 5.0?

Human-first. Sustainable. Resilient. The next layer of manufacturing.

Human-Centric
Technology serves people. Cobots work alongside humans. Personalization at scale.
Sustainable
Circular economy, renewable energy, reduced waste, and bio-inspired materials.
Resilient
Supply chains that withstand global shocks. Localized and adaptive production.

THE ORIGIN STORY

Why This Exists

A clear record of what Industry 5.0 actually is — and what it is not.

Started in mechanical engineering. A professor asked what defines the next era after 4.0. The answer that stuck was the combination of advanced technology with real human work in plants.

After Purdue (BSME ’25, MSME ’27) and working at a Fortune 100 manufacturing plant, the gap was clear: lots of talk about the future of industry, very little honest reporting of what is actually happening with new systems in plants, where they succeed, and where they fall short.

This site follows the developments that matter — the ones visible in real facilities, with real people and real machines. The full origin story is here.
